In the 8th chapter of Romans, Paul explains how those who have been redeemed by Christ(Romans 10:9) and live by the Holy Spirit are actually children of God. As children of God, He hears our cries in times of trouble and weakness. Below are just three passages informing us how God is a good father! We cry out to Him and He will answer us!
Romans 8:12-17 - NKJV
12. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17. and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. II Corinthians 6:14-18 - NKJV
14. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15. And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16. And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 17. Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18. “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”
Matthew 7:7-11 - NKJV
7. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10. Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
Remember! If you are in the midst of a rough situation, are faced with temptation, or are just really feeling down or doubting yourself, know that the Lord is just one prayer away! Cry out to Him, “Abba! Father!” And as a good Father, He will hear your pleas and answer you!
