Temporary Discoloration Of Some Garments

Some of our designs are applied using a commercial heat press machine. The heat and pressure permanently fuses the ink of the design to the fabric of the garment. This application method produces a much softer feel than traditional screen printing. One of the temporary side effects of this application process is that it can sometimes cause short-term discoloration of the fabric. This is normal and the color returns shortly after the fabric has cooled down and moisture has returned to the affected area. The cause of the discoloration is due to the warmth of the press evaporating moisture from the fabric. This difference in moisture content can make the affected area appear darker or even as a different color. Once the temperature and moisture levels return to normal, the color returns as well. We have not experienced any long-term or permanent discoloration on our finished garments using this process.
